Meet the Principal

What was your favorite thing about being a teacher?

My favorite part of teaching was having so much fun with our students: building a family environment and being a part of each student's journey as they grew to their full potential. My other favorite part was sharing my love of reading and Oreo cookies. (If you ever bring in some Oreo cookies, make sure you ask me to sing "the Oreo cookie" song.)

About Me

I am married and have three sons. I grew up in Wisconsin (GO PACKERS!), and am the oldest of three boys. I played football, wrestled, ran track, was in choir, and played the trombone. In college, I was a two-sport All-American in football and wrestling and an ESPN Academic All-American.

I previously taught kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade; English in Daugavpils, Latvia for three summers; and was a middle school principal for three years. I have coached high school football, wrestling, and track, and wrestling at the collegiate level. I also loved my experiences supporting local band and choirs as an audience member and chaperone on trips around the country and as a speech coach.

In my personal life, I enjoy spending time with my family, playing board/cards games, and working out. I am also working on completing my dissertation for my doctoral degree.

The best part of my day as a building leader is helping all the adults and students in the building grow.

As the principal of Elton Hills, it is wonderful to see the strong commitment our entire staff has to each student and family that our building touches. We continually strive to build strong relationships with each student and their family. We are committed to working together to ensure your child have their academic, social, and emotional needs met during their time with us. Please partner with us to better your child's time with us is an impactful one. We invite you to play an active role in your child's education. Ask questions, come to events, and show your child that school and learning are the keys to success!

If you are interested in touring our school, please contact me at any time. Also, if there is anything I can do to support you throughout the year, don't hesitate to contact me.  I can be reached by email or by phone, (507) 328-3200.
